What is a 1988 turbo S in this condition worth?
So while picking up a typical car I would part I came to find out that it is actually one of the last turbo S cars built in 88. Ordered light grey on black and best I can find is 1 of 62 black ones. Obviously not a silver rose. Story is that the previous owner drove it and parked it one day to start working on a 71 muscle car type and just let this one sit. It is too rare a bird for me to part and too much of a project for me to restore so I am leaning toward selling as is. It has the 52 stamped on the block so it is the high hp, 220 AOR trans on the option code, M030, cd-1 plus amp, split rear seat, Abs, rolled fenders.....So the million dollar question, or several thousand dollar question is what is it worth? Needs total resto but no real rust that I could see

Assuming that the engine actually runs decently, and if it has the AOR tranny in it, then my guess would be 7-10k range, maybe less. Prices have supposedly been going up, so this might be a bit low.
What is the mileage? I am assuming that it doesn't have any history documented?

Tranny didn't have a cooling loop so first thought is it has been switched. Second is that it was taken off and plugged but will be checking into more details
No history at all 93,000 miles

It is definitely worth more in parts then as-is. Going to take a lot of $$$ to restore that car. But, with that said, excellent decision to sell whole and not part it out. These cars are very rare so need to save them wherever possible.
Mileage (sub 100k) makes it a good restoration candidate. I'm probably less optimistic on price.... 5 to 7k.

I hate to say it, but in this market I think that one is still a parts car, unless it runs and drives.... maybe in 10 years we'll look back and say it definitely should have been saved. But honestly you could buy a nice black turbo S for 20s, and you could NEVER restore that car for 20k. Just my opinion.
