rear window

Hi everyone, while I have a couple other Porsches, I"m relatively new to 951 ownership. What is going on with the top of my rear widow here with the left side, looks like the trim paint is coming off from the inside , right side is still ok. (no water leaks either) is there a DYI fix to this?

thanks in advance

-Kerry

It's the beginning of the separation of the glass from the frame.

AFAIK, there is no permanent fix, although many have tried, all have failed.

The real problem is that the aluminum frame, which is not substantial at all, deforms under the pressure of the hatch struts under pressure. One way to slow down the damage is to use only worn out hatch struts and an appropriate length of broomstick.

Of course, my conclusions are not shared by all... you will get many other opinions. It's the internet, after all.

Thanks -- I had heard this is a problem with these cars, but didn't know what it looked like when it manifested itself.
