Looking for info on 944 Turbo Pistons
Greetings,
My first time at this site. Anyway, a ring land went south on my 1981 Callaway 928 twin turbo. I was running on the stock cast pistons with 8.5:1 compression. I am looking for the following information of the 100 mm 944 Turbo pistons: Distance from wrist pin to top of piston Displacement of the top of the piston (i.e. how much volume is held in the dish and valve relief of the piston) Obviously the compression ratio will have to be right for turbocharging this thing correctly. Ideally I would like 8:1 or 8.5:1. The goal is to run about 10-12 psig of boost. I am going to the 5.0 liter 928 block to allow me to use a 100 mm 944 turbo piston. That should make my engine easily reliable to 450 HP. Additionally, if anybody knows where I might get a set of these things....preferrably 100 mm with tolerance group 1, I would like to hear from you. Thanks |
