Radio Security Wire
Anyone have pics or know how to describe where the silver/white 'security' wire hooks up from the back of the radio?
I have a japanese spec car so I don't know if that makes a difference. I know the radios are different. |

Ok. Still need help but here is some stuff I have found out.
Please see end for insight I need!?!?! There is a thin green wire next to glove box that gets attached to frame that radio slides into. In addition there is a thick wire with green wire inside.....like a cable that goes into power harness. Apparently if radio is pulled out it somehow closes or opens a circuit that shuts down radio until code is entered and also triggers alarm to car. No issues if you want to use aftermarket. Just make sure to insulate ends of green wires so they don't short.....apparently they carry about 5V and this can slow drain the battery if shorted. My question is if I want to use Porsche radio is there a way to disable this system?? I can't make it work with my Porsche radio.
