Oops...damaged in shipping

Recently bought a set of powdercoated Cup 1s on eBay. Paid what I thought they were worth. Seller did a pretty good job of packing them. Unfortunately, one of the wheels seems like it got dinged pretty hard in transit. Seller says he would take the wheel back and have it fixed (powdercoated again by same guy who did the set). Or would take the set back and refund the payment....it's PayPal. Not sure what to do. Don't want 3 wheels one shade of black and one a different shade. Or I can keep them and send the set to be soda blasted and re-powdercoated. Unfortunately, I am at sea so I can't even look at them up close and it is not so easy to have them packed and shipped back. Any suggestions? I was really looking forward to that set of wheels on my car. Poor me right? Love those wheels. Got to have them and I want them to be right.

Hello - why would 1 wheel come back a different shade of black? I would assume if the seller were to redo it, they would start the process over which would produce a result that's identical to the other 3. Perhaps I'm not understanding something..?

Contact the powder Coaters to ask about one wheel , should not be a problem if they’re freshly done and haven’t been used and subjected to daylight .
If they’re older it might be better to do one side as a matched pair if you’re worried there might be variation .

I know and have used 2 powder coat places ...
Expensive Specialist will guarantee a match on a wheel damaged in shipping .
Cheap back-street place can just about guarantee 4 wheels done at the same time to match .

It fades .
Especially in socal sun .
You’ll often see cars with one side faded as where they’re parked one side sits in sun all day .

These look a lot less bright now

Well now one is damaged, are you hell bent on keeping them black? If you are going through the trouble to blast one or two, just do them all and go back to silver or any other color that is your fancy. Unless you are in love with the black.
