Mystery Plug/Harness Under Back Seat

I peeled back the carpet in the back seat of my 92 C2 Cabrio today and found an empty plug and (3) brown wires under the carpet on top of the transmission tunnel. The convertible top appears to function properly so Im guessing they don't go to that. The car is pretty mikey moused, a previous owner did a lot of work but didnt do it properly.

Any idea what these wires should go to?

Old cell phone?
My 89 has 4 tell tale screws on side of center console and remnants of installed cell phone system under passenger seat. Wish the antenna was still on the car! Lol
Could be some sort of audio connection. Cd changer or something.

Yes it does and it functions properly. The cruise module is under the passenger seat. I have been looking at the workshop manual wiring diagrams I downloaded trying to identify the wiring. In the convertible top motor circuit it doesn't show (4) brown wires.

I found them trying to find the center mounting point for the fold down rear seats in my cabrio. The plus and brown wires are located right where the center mounting point is supposed to be. My car is a basket case that was poorly modified by the previous owners. I'm just trying to sort it all out. Did cabrios even come with rear seat backs?

Just a guess. My 90 Cab has a wire with plug that is hot in the same area. I found it was for rear defrost if my cab was a coupe. I don't remember the plug looking like that though. Actually I taped power from it to use for another purpose. Can't you pull the carpet back and trace the wire?

Old thread resurrection.

I just picked up a 964 cab with rear seat delete and found the same plug and wires. Anyone have an idea what it is for?

Ryan

Some of the rear seat deletes had powered locking mechanisms on the doors
