993 clutch pedal

I have adjusted the clutch pedal in all directions, and also followed the Porsche workshop manual adjustment procedures but to no avail. Sometimes the pedal feels right and responds the way one would expect. Other times the pedal releases the clutch pretty low, or other times the pedal does not return completely. I can slip my foot under the pedal and bring it up all the way, not much resistance felt. The clutch does not slip, but the unpredictability of the pedal drives me a little crazy. Has anyone found a solution for this? I know this car is not the only one to suffer this malady. Thanks in advance for suggestions.

A friend just had the clutch fork pin boss casting break off, just before it went 100% to the floor he was having similar clutch issues as you describe. We did a clutch bleed to see if that would address the symptoms, seemed to work for a few days (20+ clutch depressions), then it went to the floor and would not come back. Bell housing bore scope probe identified the fork was not in position and pulling the trans confirmed the boss had snapped off the bell housing casting. Seems to be a growing concern/common failure with age (and dirt in fork pin over time). CMS has a repair for this failure, so it is more common on a G50 then we would like :-(

This happened to me after changing the clutch out. I didn’t get the plug in the release fork shaft all the way. Snapped the boss right when I stepped on it. Dumb mistake. Dropped the engine AGAIN and took the transmission to be welded. CMS looks like a better option though.

I had some similar issues with my 1990 964 cab. Replaced the clutch slave cylinder and the soft line to the slave with a new s/s line. Bled the brakes and slave and have not had the issue since.
