Fog light lens removal

Hi guys,
I have purchased new fog light lenses and want to install these in my 964, however, the glass fog light lens does not want to get out of the plastic frame. Perhaps it was replaced previously and a different sealant was used? How do I get the glass lens out of the plastic frame? Use a hammer and knock the glass lens out? Any suggestions appreciated! Thx.

Are they not factory bonded in? If the case then careful removal of the bonding needed. What I have done in the past is machine polish with the right compound the glass and it made a huge difference in removing surface scratches.

The 964 model fogs and tail lights were designed to be replaced as a whole unit, not just the lens.
So I never found just the lenses like the Carrera fogs...
So it’s a adhesive you must removed carefully..try a razor blade tool

Where you buy just the lens?

Carefully pry around the edge with small screwdriver, you may break the lense or crack or chip the edge.

Great! That worked! I bought some Windshield & Glass Sealant from Permatex and used that to seal the new glass black into the frame. Will this hold the glass lens in place?
Thx.

I used Devcon silicone adhesive that I purchased at my favorite hardware store.
