Immobilizer light goes out. DME fuel relay still not closing
Car was sitting a while and the battery went dead. Recharged it and it will not start. I didn't hear the fuel pump energize. Great... another immobilizer issue.
So I pulled my Ftech9 electronic DME out AND replaced it with a good "coil / relay" one where I have the shell off so I could see the DME action. I can see the primary relay energizes (from ignition switch) BUT the fuel pump relay won't energize. Yep immobilizer. I can do it by hand (pressing the relay closed) and get some pressure in the system and the car will kick over but not run unless someone holds the relay closed. Checked coil and its good. From my past experience with the immobilizer if it senses a theft it leaves the fuel pump relay coil open and the immobilizer light on the dash will be ON. BUT this time I have an immobilizer light that goes OUT so its disarmed out AND i'm STILL NOT getting the relay coil to get a signal to ground and close the relay to supply 12 past the fuse to the pump. (I believe it gets the ground signal from the immobilizer unit.) Why? PS battery fully charged, fuses good. |
