**** SCAM ALERT **** CARHAUS, Pharr TX

Someone alerted me this morning to an ad being run by carhaussales.com in Pharr, TX which lists my Zenith Blue 97 (sitting in my garage here in CT) for sale using pics and description from a 6+ year old Craig's list ad. They have three other 993's listed, all of which are bogus as well, taken word-for-word from previous sales. So I called Carhaus. I asked about the 97 Zenith Blue 993 they had for sale. I wanted to see if maybe it was a mistake, or maybe if it was a bait and switch. Nope. He proceeds to tell me all about the car, - great shape, running perfectly, yada, yada. I said "Yeah, I know, that's my car". He hung up. I emailed to tell him the other 3 993's were also scams. I filed a report with the Pharr, TX police dept. Total Scam. Beware.

I just bought a 1976 PORSCHE from them and everything went smooth. They are kind of repo, their freight services were ok and the shipping was done using an enclosed trailer within 3 business days.

Trying to sell me my own car and at least 3 other 993’s they don’t own is an outright scam. The demand for these cars and recent run up in prices has apparently made it very tempting to rip off the unsuspecting public. Absolutely no excuse for that. It will be interesting how they explain that when the po po come knocking.

No, they aren't just innocently "posting other cars". They launched into a full blown sales pitch, and tried to sell me my own car. What was next? Taking a deposit?

Good catch. Didn't notice that. I told them I was posting on the forums so BT9181=CARHAUS??
After I told CARHAUS I filed a report with Pharr Police they took down the ad for my car. But... left up the other 993 bogus ads. So then I filed a complaint with BBB, County DA and TX Atty General. Only then did they take the other 993 ads down. Kind of like wack-a-mole. Who knows maybe every ad is bogus? Hey CARHAUS, how many deposits have you taken on the bogus cars???

I predict that BT9181 will fall silent, but soon another new member will suddenly appear with glowing reviews of CARHAUS. I think CARHAUS = SCAMHAUS

Look at the wording and sentence structure, English is not his first language. Also the use of all caps for "1976 PORSCHE" screams a copy and paste.

Every ad they have is bogus so it's a total criminal enterprise, probably with no physical presence. Website is still up so I've asked moderators on this and the 911 forum to make this a sticky.

Every ad they're running is bogus. Do a VIN search and you'll find the ad they bootlegged. They seem to get a lot of them from www.classic.com

Give them a call like i did and ask to come see the car or put a deposit down.
