Composite Roof Bond Question

I'm putting a composite roof (it stretches from the cowl gutter to the rear window x-member gutter) on a 964 Cab. Though it'd probably be wiser to just use it all, the existing (metal) windshield frame is still viable so I'm considering an option- has anyone removed the a-pillars (from a composite roof) & bonding the leading edge to a metal frame? It's about 40mm wide . . . I'd imagine someone has done this, but most of the threads I find about the subject show one photo, slightly focused at best, taken via a 1997 disposable Fuji Film camera. I am by no means experienced in large composite projects and so am not certain about real estate needed for a sure bond.

Though I also have composite quarters on hand, I'm also considering cutting the roof unit & splicing it a nick below the quarter windows around to the rear x-member in order to keep the metal quarters intact. The quarter windows from my '68 fit this arrangement well but I have yet to commit if anyone sees an issue there.

Before anyone starts yelpin' about how I'm going to ruin a perfectly good, beautiful Cab, the fire and years of rain did a helluva job to that end before I touched it. For safety's sake, there's also a palletized full cage sitting in the leaves next to the car awaiting the day I get irritated enough to fix my Regency 250 & start the install.

So here we are.

Thanks in advance for your replies.
