993 Odometer issue

A friend of mine just got a 993 and the odometer doesn't read right. He travels about 50 miles to his work and the odometer adds 250 miles. I've been playing with Porsches for 40 years and never heard of this issue. But I've never owned a 993.
Any ideas what causes this? Ever heard of it. I've searched the post and don't see anything other than 5 to 7 mph off.
Thanks.

no idea but Palo Alto Speedo can fix it no doubt.

Never heard of this specific issue but many 993 speedo's get repaired. My cars was.

OK, something unique. Maybe makes the car worth more. I believe there's gears that work the odometer and a magnetic pulse for the speedo. Must be some gear ratios issue.
I've has a local place in Concord do a few tachs for me, in the past, so I'll tell my friend to take it there. (It's close) I think I had Hollywood Speedo (forgot the real name) do work too.
Thanks for the feedback.

I’ve had Hollywood fix my odo in the past, they do good work and they have quick turnaround.
