I Fix Things

And not only cars and motorcycles.

For those of us who own both an air-cooled Porsche (993) and also one of those new fangled high-tech wonders (991.1), have you ever noticed when you are on one of the later model folders (991 in my case), many (not all) owners aren't very hands-on. Most of them end up taking their cars to the dealer.

Us air-cooled owners seem to bond much more with our cars.

Actually, its an observation from the countless posts.

In fact, I am following a "seized spark plug" thread where the plug snapped off and the remaining threaded barrel of the spark plug is in the cylinder head. Maybe a faulty plug, maybe it was overtorqued for that to happen, but I doubt it is seized due to heavy corrosion.

Anyway, lots of advice, some of it good, but little action from the owner as this happened a month ago and the car is parked since then. Easy fix, some $3700 at the dealer/shop, but could be a free fix with a bit of initiative and help from "experienced" local members.
