Replacing sunroof seal

Does anyone have tips for replacing the long sunroof seal? This is the one attached to the roof and the fabric surrounding the rubber/plastic bead has fallen apart. I had my 1995 C2 painted 8-10 years ago, and the paint shop owner (now retired) told me they had trouble installing it and had to order a new one. I had purchased pretty much all the trim bits and it looks like the one they used is an aftermarket piece.

I replaced my sunroof seal with one from our host when I resprayed my 95 coupe. Should be straight forward and simple. I’m sure your old seal was junk after pulling it out.
