Power Reclining seat stuck forward

I've got 993 seats in my 82. I powered the passenger seatback all the way forward and now it will not return back to a reclining position. The switches are good. Any advise as to how to get the seat to recline? The seat is out of the car on the bench.

Sounds like it is jammed You can disconnect the motor from the tracks the you can turn each side by hand make sure they are even then hook your motor back up

My guess is it is the switch, mine are bad to. Sprayed some crc and got a little movement then stopped again. I read you have to disassemble the switch and clean the contacts, springs, and ball bearings inside. Haven’t gotten to that yet

Thanks for the reply's. The seat back was stuck all the way forward. I took a small wrench that fit the pivot pin and applied a little pressure to each side of the seat. It was enough to free up the the works and the seat now functions normally. Thanks again.

Did you see what caused the seat to lock up?
