964 underseat wiring
Hi All, new member here. I had my seats reupholstered and got the seat attached wires screwed up. Attached under the seat I have 4 male/female plug sets. Don't know what goes to what. I also have a large plug which Is the power seat connection. On the FLOOR, I have 3 plugs. One is for the power seat, one for the seat belt warning and the 3rd one is NOT used. If I plug in the plugs attached to the seat (not sure what goes to what)
I have Only the female "floor" plug (no remaining male plug) for the seatbelt warning and no more plugs! HELP! Pics follow. MANY THANKS TJN. tomnolan1941@gmail.com ![]() ![]() |

Two things to do...
1. Trace the connector wires back to see what they're attached to on the seat? I would guess motors and seat movement switches. 2. Make a note of the wire colors at the plug ends? Normally (not always) the same colored wires will be connected together at the plugs. Looking at the wiring for a 1990 964 the wires are Black/Violet and Black/Green. The first color is the wire the second color is the stripe on the wire. Funny thing is The height adjustment and the back/forward adjustment are the same color wires. So it could be trial and error to make sure you plug the right motor to the right switch.
