What is acceptable oil consumption in a 993?

P.O. of my 993 used Castrol Syntec 5/30. I still can't figure out this swirly dipstick, so I go by the gauge. Looks like she drank 1 qt. in about 2300 miles, though I wasn't sure of the level when I got the car.

So I topped her off on 7/4 and have put about 800 miles on her since then. Gauge is now down just a hair. What's acceptable here?

1 Qt. per every 2 to 3K miles is very normal.

Wow..you're driving the heck out of your car! Good job.

I find with the thinner synthetic oils under high heat they can evaporate !!!! Meaning you think your 911 is using more oil than it really is. Talk to your porsche dealer about better oils to use, maybe a slightly thicker synthetic oil maybe be a better choice. Depends on your driving condiditons (ie heavy traffic / track / country ) and the climate you live in.

My 10c worth from experince.
