Do you have a 996 roof rack
How many of you have the stock P-car roof rack? How many of you detest the fact that you are stuck having to use the cheap P-car mounts for skis and bikes?
I've go an idea to solve that but I'd like to get a feel for how many people actually own the rack. Thanks,

In response to your post/inquiry regarding the 996 roof rack - I do not have one, but need to solve this problem. You mentioned you might have a solution other than the ludicrously-priced factory solution. Please let me know ASAP.
Thanks, -Brent |

I dunno if there is any difference in the roof racks between your 996 and my 964 which has rain gutters. I use a standard Thule roof rack to transport my mountain bike. No problems, fits fine. A Yakima rack will work, too. I've seen other P-cars (not 996s, though) using these racks to transport extra wheels to AutoX and DE.
Good luck! |

Unfortunately, there is. Niether Thule or Yakima make a rack that fits. It appears the only solution is from Porsche, at about $550. I may have to take the hit. By the way, are you in San Mateo?

Call Sports Rack in San Rafael, maybe they'll have an alternative. BTW, I'm in Sausalito.
