Need a little help with a 993 8-way drivers seae
A few days ago the function to recline the seat back stopped working it will move forward but will not move to the rear. Since there is only one power wire with a blade connector that attaches to the underside of the seat does it make more sense that the problem is probably in the switch or could it be the motor. Anyone have any experience with this issue?

Had the same issue a few years back. The switch contacts get “dirty” or a little oxidized. I disassembled the switch, cleaned up the contacts with a pencil eraser, and reassembled. Hardest part is putting the little ball bearings back in. Second hardest is finding them on the floor.

The switches can be rebuilt but I find usually it doesn't last. For $129 I would replace it with new. One thing if you are in a bind if you reverse polarity of the power to the switch it will work in reverse. Easy way to check if it is the motor or switch. So once the power feed is switched pushing the up button will make it go down or back will go forwards.
