dme reset and re-adapt?

HI
i have searched achives and get 2 different answers.

after you disconnect the battery ....what is the correct way to re-adapt the d.m.e on 1991 c2?

drive the car for 20 minutes with MINIMUM idling OR idle car for 20 minutes?

thank you

I've been told you need to drive it as you typically would with minimum idling.

My understanding is to drive it for 20 minutes (without stopping the engine) in as many different situations as you can. This would include some situations at idle, some in traffic, some on the open road, shifting sometimes at or near redline, etc. Apparently there are various "maps" within the DME's brain for different driving conditions, and you want to "re-map" as many of these as possible on your drive.
