964 1990 tiptronic warning light
Car is in limp mode.. permanently. Will only run in third.
Tip warning lamp is on from the word go and does not go out after starting. Turning off does not reset. Disconnecting battery for long period does not reset. unplugging tip ecu and reconnecting does not reset. Running durametric, I get the following screen: ![]() Can anyone shed some light on fault 21 : rpm signal? |

21 – RPM signal from DME failed
is the actual error. Maybe a wire loose? |

Did you by any chance just complete some maintenance or repair on or around the tranny? I forgot to attach the ground strap following work and that is exactly what happened to my '91 Tip. Reattached the ground strap and everything was back to normal. Just a thought.

Turns out the ecu had failed.
Got hold of a second hand one, and all problems are sorted. |
