Need help with Part Name & Number ID
 

Can someone please help me identify the black plastic part & it's part number (circled in red). Mine has recently developed a hairline crack and I'm fearful that it's not going to hold. Thank you!

I've spent a while looking through the diagrams, and it doesn't look like that part is available separately. It looks like it's part of the throttle body. The metal bracket that the accelerator cable housing "screws" into, is part # 964.110.219.02, but that won't help much.... sorry........

Thanks for looking it up!:) I've searched through AllData's diagrams and couldn't get anywhere. Asked a couple of gurus on Rennlist and nobody seems to know(silence to be exact).:( Atleast we have a part number to begin with.

Does the diagram illustrating the metal bracket include the plastic throttle cable guide (I'm assuming that's what it's called)? I don't mind purchasing the whole bracket if that will replace the cracked plastic guide. Thanks again for answering my post!!!

hi, i checked the PET Parts program, and the factory manual..but can't seem to find it either.
is it possibly part of the throttle cable???
the gold anodized bracket in your photo is referred to as "bracket for tiptronic" in the workshop manual.....maybe that is what is stumping some of the guys here and on rennlist...they are used to the manual trans. cars

Hi Max,

The throttle cable can be removed and seems to be independent of the bracket. However, further fiddling around confirms that the plastic guide is an integrated part of the Tiptronic bracket. At least now I know what that darn thing is called. I think we're getting close...all I need now is the correct part number for ordering.:D (The one provided by ekessel is for the housing support.)

Peter, my manual shows the bracket as part number 964 110 219 01, but when i looked it up in the price book, it has been superceded by the number ekessel gave ( 964 110 219 02 ) . price- $27. i also noticed that it was for a car with option m454, which is automatic speed control (cruise control)

Max, I have the m454 option. I think the cruise control and trip computer comes standard with the Tip box. But from your diagram it still does not illustrate that damn plastic guide. I guess I'll call up Pelican on Monday using the part number both you and ekessel have provided and see what I get. Thanks for researching it out for me. I really appreciate it. SmileWavy

I was puttering around my car again today, and checked a little closer at the part you are looking for. Mine (90 C2) is also cracked in the same place..... go figure..... I followed the cable, and it goes to the cruise control box, not to the accelerator pedal.... just a little more info for you (couldn't find any number markings on either side of mine)

This is the Cruise Control cable not the accelerator Cable , and it is only in later 964 Cars ( plastik Intake ) look on page 907-01 on the PET .

THE BALL SOCKETS ON THE CRUISE CONTROL LINKAGE CAN BREAK, ALLOWING THE CRUISE CONTROL LINKAGE TO BECOME DETACHED ON ONE END AND JAM ON NEARBY COMPONENTS, WHICH COULD IMPAIR THROTTLE PLATE OPERATION. IMPAIRED THROTTLE PLATE OPERATION COULD PREVENT THE ENGINE FROM RETURNING TO IDLE, RESULTING IN UNWANTED ENGINE SPEED AND POSSIBLE VEHICLE ACCIDENT. REPLACE THE CURRENT PLASTIC BALL SOCKETS WITH A NEW LINKAGE USING STEEL BALL SOCKETS, AND LUBRICATE THE CRUISE CONTROL RELAY LEVER. OWNERS ARE ADVISED

I would like to re-live this thread, as I also find the same problem on my car.
Was anybody able to find the number of this plastic guide piece?

I was able to get the replacement from Porsche dealer. It comes as a kit with Part# 964-110-970-02.
It was around 25$ for this guide, spring, washers and axle. Changing it out took about 15 minutes.
