Is there a difference between a c2/c4 starter motor?

...just going by the parts book here.. not sure of the M 64 etc. codes (i think they are the engine codes.)
the part number starting with 965 is definetley a turbo number (M 30 69 and M 64 50 are the 3.3 and 3.6 turbo engine codes)

maybe someone can decipher the numbers and help you out. (or, phone your friendly neighborhood Porsche partsman)

You can use 965 604 104X (Bosch S2420X) on all 964/993 from 90-98.
For the 89 C4, use 911 604 102AX (Bosch SR468X).
