good-bye "Buick" steering wheel !! hello three-spoker!!
looks and feels a lot better. and the Porsche DIY gods shone down on me for the install....it is perfectly centered after the switch...no trip to the alignment shop.

Jerry, the outside diameter of the 3-spoke wheel is just slightly smaller than the four-spoke... a little less than 1/4 inch. The rim thicknes is about the same, other than the obvious changes just above 3 and 9 o'clock.
I said i would never trust a used airbag, but found a PCA/rennlist member who had this leather one for sale from his own new 996. i think they are around 400 new for vinyl, about 500 for leather.
the wheel itself was a Suncoast Porsche ebay auction for a brand new wheel. i think retail is about $385-$450. wound up getting it for about $270.
Chris..i purchased a new spoiler wall from Pelican a couple of months ago as my old one was shot. saw the one you did on ebay, emailed the fellow to confirm what it was and that it WAS brand new. put in a fairly low bid and no one else bid. Have yet to recieve it, so i'm not too excited yet . guess i'll have a spare for next time. Porsche doesn't improve them, just keeps selling them to us!! at $100 for a few bucks worth of plastic!
later, max
