Would you buy a 993 coming off lease?
I've learned of a man who buys these cars and resells them. Is this a good way for me to get a good car? thanks.

This should be about as good as buying one from a dealer. Just make sure you get it checked out by a respected shop so you know what kind of shape it's in. Of course a better option would be to buy from an enthusiast, but that's not always possible.
Good luck!

The good news is that someone who leased a 993 isn't like a 22 year-old who rents a car and abuses it on purpose (rental abuse). However, some of these guys, while not intentionally abusing their cars, don't realize that a Porsche is not a Honda and requires regular maintenance even if the car seems fine. So, you need to carefully check the car's records to determine whether the prior owner was an ignoramus or did what needed to be done. For example, the prior owner of my car owned it for its image. Although he didn't know much about the car, luckily he did know that it had to be regularly maintained. He had it serviced at the best shop in SF and did what they told him to do. So, it was fine. If the prior owner of the car you're looking at passes that test, then PPI the car.
Good luck!
