993 Odometer Failure

ANYONE HAVE ANY CLUES ON A SUDDEN ODOMETER FAILURE AFTER RESETTING THE TRIPOMETER?? 1996 993 WITH 30,000 MILES. ODOMETER QUIT AFTER TRIP WAS RESET. IS IT CABLE OR ELECTRONIC? SPEEDO WORKS FINE. THANKS.

It is electro\mechanical.

You probably stripped out the gear that drives it. The speedo\odo will have to be rebuilt.

North Hollywood Speedometer performs this service fairly reasonably.

Never reset your trip odometer while the car is in motion.
