OBD not communicating ??

1996 993, when plugging in a scan tool it works fine. However, I have tried 2 smog test places and neither could communicate with the OBD 2 plug. Has anybody else had this problem?? I know try a 3rd or 4th smog station.

i have read about incompatibility/interface problems with some '96s and the OBDII testing.

Awsome links Max. Thanks. I had a 96 which wouldn't reset it's rediness monitors, but I hadn't seen one yet that wouldn't comunnicate at all with the state machines. I may have to call Loren and thank him too !
