993 cab - soft top problem

ok. I just came back from a quick burn in the 993 cab, top down.
On my arrival back home I hit the power top switch to take the top back up, but no reaction. Nothing. No signs of the motor attempting to pull the top up, no electrobnic contact sounds. nothing. I checke the fuse , but thats good.

This is the first time this has happend to me. Has anyone experienced this, and is there any suggestions as to what the problem is and how I can address it? Is therea manual override that allow me to pull up the roof, worst-case scenario?

Thanks
- J

J - do a search over on Rennlist. This is a common problem and you should find plenty of advice.

sorry if this sounds very elementary,............if it's from, it must be !!!!

First thing that occurs to me since there is no elec/motor effort, is that maybe a required contact at an override (probably not correct term, but), like at the parking brake lever. There is probably a contact switch that must be complete in order for the top motor to start. I had an old 944 once that the contact switch got bent a little, and something didn't work (I forget what, since it obviously wasn't a cab). Anyway, try that line of thinking.
