Just got a 96 993TT. Black. very nice, low miles. Car spent part of the time as time trials ride and is currently fitted with a GT-2 Coil-over suspension. I am restoring the car back to street specifications and will be raising the ride-height a bit, along with either changing out the coil-overs for stock set up or installing softer springs. Anyone here have any experiences that can point me in the right direction? For example, the springs currently fitted are not marked in any way, and we are not able to determine the spring rates. We are thinking that perhaps we can keep the coil-over setup and run softer springs, something that would be 25% stiffer than OE. But no one at H&R, or others seems to have any idea what we should get. Ideas?

You can install Bilstein PSS9s. They have a 9 way adjustment for dampening. You can go from soft to hard. You can also adjust height.

 Thanks...

The current set up includes Bilstein shocks, but we are not able to i.d. them. Have spoken to Andial and some others. Have also located a stock Turbo set up. I may go with the stock set up and retain the racing stuff. Just wish we could tell what we have...

Here's a guess but if your shocks are Bilstein and it is a coil over system, you probably already have PSS9's. I don't know the spring rates off hand but I am sure you can find it on the Bilstein website.

A little less agressive choice vs. the desirable PSS-9, would be Bilstein HD's (with extra spring perch threads for the front) and ROW M030 springs. IIRC, the turbo rear springs are of slightly higher spring rate than n/a 993 variants.. Post some pics of your new baby! Chris
