Big sigh of relief
Well, I'm still plugging away at the 60K service, and did the 12 spark plugs today. I was dreading them because I had read that they are a big deal and very difficult to change. Not so, as long as you have 4 hours to spare. The p-car.com article was good. My '95 had a few extra bolts holding the engine tin in place that p-car did not point out, but no big deal.
Also replaced the fuel filter (1/2 hour - no need to pull off any of the airbox stuff, as long as you have stubby metric wrenches) and all the lid shocks (1/2 hour as well). Last week I replaced the distributor's internal drive belt, and there were a few gut-checks involved with that one. I don't even want to know how much a 993 distributor costs. Why am I posting all this? I don't know. I just wanted to create some traffic on the forum, I guess. ![]()

Colin, good job on the DIY service. Typically, these cars are not that difficult to work on. Did my plugs a few months ago, other than #6 upper, the rest were easy. Once I removed the muffler and tin, #6uppper was not that big of a deal. Just have to be crafty with your extensions and tape them together..
These cars are very special indeed.. ![]() Chris |
