I was just at the auto parts store and I looked up the number in the sylvania book for the 993 and the silverstars are not listed as compatible for 95-98 model year 911 only H1/55w?

993 headlights are H1/55w. There are Silverstars in that size. I've heard they're great, but too spendy for me. They're about three times what normal bulbs cost.
Chris.

Hi there.
First post to this forum, bought my first '95 993 back in September and loving it. Anyway, Yes, I have replaced the stockhalogens with Silverstars (H1's). I'd replaced the headlamps in my 04 Honda Pilot already with Silverstars and been very impressed with the extra light, so I thought what the heck.... and i'm impressed with the extra light on the 993 as well. Easy to change and gives a little extra in the dark. Also, check out ebay (where I bought all mine from). About half the cost of retail (even after shipping). I used a seller call j-lee_global. Here's a link. He has a pair for $21.95!! I'm thinking of upgrading the fog light next (H3's i think?) It worked for me and I'm happy... a representative sample of 1!

The ones he's selling have an "ST" suffix... as in H1ST... is that the correct bulb for a 95 993?
Thanks! ++ OPPS! A little research on the Sylvania site got me the answer...ST is correct. ![]()

I just changed my low beams (the ones behind the projector lens) to silverstars. I got the pair for 29.95 at advance auto parts. You can change the fogs to silverstars too, I think they use the H3 bulb.

I just changed my low beams to the H1's. The light is a lot more white shining on the garage door (one old one new installed.) After putting them in both sides I went out for a ride in our dark neighborhood and noticed quite an improvement to what I'm used to. I'd recommend them.

That makes a representative sample of 3 (and all '95s)
Welcome to the light side, Kule.

I was so happy with the H1's for the low beams, I stopped by Discount/Advance Auto Parts to see if they had H3's for the driving lights.
Price for 2: $40 1/2 off second bulb: -10 Mail in rebate: -5 Final price for two: $25.00 and that's right down the street no shipping costs. That's for all the SiverStars by the way. Now...anyone got a method to remove the "milkiness" from again driving/fog light lens' ??
