964 steering pump drive
anyone here ever intall new oil seals in the power steering pump drive? the pulley is connected to the end of the camshaft and it leaks like a seive where the shaft exits the head. it requires a special tool to hold the pulley which i have ordered but it looks like a b*tch to get to

Camshaft seal for the power steering pump.
I just did a 93 C-2. I did not use the special tool. I use a large long screw driver or a piece of steel in between the pump sprocket and the cylinder area. I removed secondary muffler, axel and the tin around the camshaft area and a few other items to make it easier to get in the area to work. When removing the old seal be carefull you do not damage the bored surface of where the new seal will be pressed into. Take your time, that is the key to installing these stupid 50 cent parts. Good luck.

Make sure you take the casting off and replace the o-ring as that does also leak.
