back to OEM from Autothority chip?

there is currently an Autothority chip in my '94 C2. can i go back to the original OEM state simply by replacing the Autothority with the original chip? or is it more involved than that? i seem to recall something where it mentioned the installer for the Autothority would ned access to Bosch hammer??

#5, I don't believe you have to do anything special to re-install the stockchip. I installed the autothority chip in '91 and didn't have to do anything involving the "hammer".

raleigh5,

I am also running an Autothority chip in my '91 C2. I believe it is a simple plug and play to switch back to a stock chip. May I ask why you are going back to stock? Are you experiancing pinging/detonation?

actually been very satisfied with how well the Autothority/K&N/secondary muffler bypass pipe combination has worked out.

reason i had asked about going back to stock was because my 964 is for sale. some potential buyers just dont want anything that isn't stock....which isn't bad either of course

Simply swap in the stock chip. No hammer or other special tools are required for this.
