ABS sensor
Hi guys!
I have a question bout my friend who owns 993 carrera "95" He have abs/speed sensor failure. Hes spedometer is not working and so his rear wing is not moving. At porsche service they quote him 1200 eur. It seem very expensive failure. Didnt find that our host is selling them. I had a friend in LA and he will bring me some parts for my 911 and guess he could bring me that too. Is any other way around this? maybe some cleaning or? I tried search but no result. Is that comon failure? Thanks for replays

I purchased a set of used wheel speed sensors for only $200 here in the US, so I wonder where the 1200 Euro cost comes from. Maybe they have diagnosed the problem to the much more expensive ABS brain box? I would have someone read out the code so you can narrow the problem to a wheel speed sensor or the ABS computer. The code might even tell you which of the 4 wheel sensors is dead. Replacing the sensors or the ABS computer is easy...

Actually friend was now told that ABS box is gone. Somehow water was in it. (guess bad replacment gasket on vinshield). He give it to some electronic guy to try fix it. How much this ABS box costs?
