cam timing mark

Hifolks:

i am in the middle of a first time waterpump/seals/belts/rollers repair. 1983 944 was running fine but i noticed oil from crank seal, antifreeze leak, frayed balance belt.

i am very sure that i found TDC on the flywheel looking down at the top drivers side opening at the back of the motor. i locked the flywheel with special tool, rechecked mark and it was fine.

i took everything apart and i just noticed that my cam timing mark is 180 degrees away from where i expected it. does anyone have any idea how this can happen, i did not move anything when taking crankpully/belts/rotor off so i am confused.

any ideas?

Give the engine another full turn back to the flywheel mark, check again,it should be fine now.,cheers,Antonio.
