Sony XR-C700RDS CDX-91 CD Player

My 1997 model Carrera 2S is fitted with a Sony XR-C700RDS radio & CDX-91 CD player.I have a problem with the CD player.The main unit display shows the message "PushReset" whenever I select the CD option from the Source button.Despite pressing the reset button the main unit still displays the same message.The CD player appears to be making all the "correct whirring noises" when it is loaded up and the magazine inserted.Has anyone else had a similar problem and, if so, what was the solution? Any help would be most appreciated.
