AC doesn't work compressor won't turn on

I'm getting no current to the wires that go the compressor. The system did leak. It worked last fall when I topped it off with some aftermarket(safe) refrigerant. Apparently this leaked out within a couple of days.
Now it's completely empty (or almost empty, there was like 2lbs of pressure left).
I want to refill it with maybe some stopleak and try and troubleshoot, but the compressor won't turn on. I checked the 7.5a fuse back there, and it's good to go.

Trick to getting this started after it runs out? Is there a switch in the brain that tells it to stop current if the pressure is low, and if so, how do I get is going?

Any advice is appreciated. Thanks.

There is a switch that turns the system off when the pressure is too low - it keeps the compressor from burning itself out.

Stopleak is NOT recommended. It usually contains a version of cyanoacrylate (a.k.a. crazy glue) It can wreck havoc on your evaporator as well as any AC service equipment.

But the owners companion doesn't tell me how to get it going to refill it. With it just off, I can't get anything done to even try and find the leak?
anyone know?

You will need to have the system charged static. Any shop with AC equipment can do this. Take the car in and get it leak checked. At least then you will know what it is you are dealing with. Chances are, you have a blown evaporator core.
