Removing the CR-1 cassette player receiver in 964
 

I finally found out how to remove the unit without destroying the trim. You need a dental pick to pry out the sides of the face trim plastic (rectangular piece of ABS plastic with small clips on the sides behind the face.) Once the trim piece is removed there is the usual 2 clips at the side which needs to be moved into the unlock positions and the unit then pulls directly out. Now I'm waiting for the correct DIN 2 plug adapters for the amp to speaker connectors from SWStereo. I am replacing the OEM unit with the Porsche CR2 CD/tuner preamp unit.
