Porsche Crest Clutch Question

I have a 91' 964 C4. My clutch makes a squeeking noise back by the engine. You can hear it with the engine shut off. Seems like it needs lubricated. I have the lower panel removed from my car, but have not located where the clutch cable connects with the transmission. Any ideas out there? Is this something I can oil or grease, or do I have bigger problems. Other than the noise, the clutch seems to work great. Thanks for any help. Mike

If I’m not mistaken, ‘91’s have hydraulic clutches. There is no cable. The squeaking you mention is typically caused by the slave cylinder. It sits on top of the transmission and can be replaced without taking the transmission out of the car. Other causes could be the fork the slave contacts, or its bearings. To replace this, you need to take the transmission out of the car.

The first thing to try is to bleed the slave. Has this been done within the last few years? If not, it needs to be done as preventive maintenance anyways.

Thanks Kang for the advice! It is a hydraulic clutch. From the picture in my Bentley "Enthusiast's Companion" it doesn't look like there is anything I can lubricate without removing the slave cylinder. I have only had the car since Nov 04'. It probably needs a bleeding. Hope it is not anything more serious. Thanks
