964: cutoff for head gasket/flywheel probs?

I know the 89, 90, and 91's have no head gasket and suffer from the DMF and distributor ozone problems unless addressed but when did Porsche change this? As far as I know it wasn't before 93 but i'm hearing different things. Anyone have the scoop, maybe by VIN number?

Gary,

Head over to the 964 forum on Rennlist and do a search. There are several post about these issues. Somewhere there is a post that has the engine serial numbers that the changeover happened. Adrian's book may list it as well, but I am at work.

Yes, got an answer there today, my engine number is a little short of the head gasket engines... oh well.
