964 suspension mods H&R or Bilstein

i'm trying to deciide whiat to use for a street set-up. i want to lower but not excessive and i don't want a harsh choppy ride. i'm looking at H&R complete set-up or H&R or Eibach springs with Bilstein shocks. quality wise ...how do the H&Rs compare to the Bilsteins?

also the car has only 55000 miles. i was told the original shocks should be worn out at that milage but i'm not sure i believe it. they don't seem worn out but i have nothing to compare to so i can't really tell

If you go with the Bilstein PSS-9's, they come with lowering springs attached and they have a damper adj. screw for street or track harshness. If you go with Bilstein HD's, they cost less than half what the PSS-9's do, but then you'll have to "spring" another $350 or so for H&R or Eibach springs. Still, that's a lot cheaper than the PSS-9 setup. PSS-9's are really overkill for a street setup. They're nice, but they ain't cheap. I have Bilstein HD's and H&R's on my 993 and it's just right. Springs came on the car and shocks ran me $1000 delivered. I DIY'ed the install and then paid $300 for the alignment.

Are Bilstein HD's for the 964 threaded like they are for the 993?

Not the right forum, but since this topic is active ...

I have a set of new 964 C2/C4 front/rear Bilstein HDs and H&R Sport springs I'm looking to sell - I don't need them anymore.

First $1200+shipping takes them.

If interested, shoot me a PM

have you considered going with KONI shocks/H&R springs set up?
The whole set up will run you less than a grand...

I also had the ones pictured on a 964 a while back. They are great! Not sure I would spend the money on the Pss9 set up....

A couple of q's. Since the upper mounts for the struts are not pictured does the set-up come with them and the lower adjusters and seats? Will you sell just the front or rears? TIA.

You need to re use the spring mounts from the stock Boge units. I just did the swap and the car looks and rides sweet. The Bilstiens are threaded for alignment. I picked up my shocks for $650.00 new and the springs on ebay also new for $200.00
