I need advice...
I'm somewhat new to the Porsche scene, as I got my first 911 in May.
I really love the car as far as what it's designed to do, but I simply can't drive it daily - no AC, pre-galvanized body, etc. I recently got a MINI Cooper S as a daily driver, but the guy I got it from (I also got the 911 from him) just listed a 1990 C4 that he'll give me a deal on. So, I'm considering selling the 911 and trading back the MINI (or something like that) Long story shortened, I drove it today during lunch and it's getting a full inspection tomorrow to see if it has any issues - it already had a lightened flywheel installed - I know that much. It drives great, interior and exterior are in excellent shape, and all mechanicals (ac, locks, mirrors, windows, seats, etc. work fine). Here is a link:http://www.motorcarinvestments.com/carFramesTop.php?car_id=456 Is the price OK, good, bad? I'm getting a bit of a discount off the listed price too, but it's a good starting point. I did look the model/year up in my red book as well as the used 911 story, so I have a little info on what gremlins tended to plague the c4. Thanks for any insight you can provide.

That's a nice looking car. I like the color. What kind of records does it have? You need to find out if ever had the heads replaced/gasketed. Porsche released these cars into 1991 w/o head gaskets and some cars had some oil leak/seepage issues. Does it have the original rear brake calipers or have they've been updated to 4 pistons? There are niggling little issues that just pop up as wheel over time, and since the car is 15 years old I'm guessing some will pop up as soon as you drive the car off the lot. My 1991 did. Also shoot over to the 964 forums at Rennlist.com and do a search or just scan the threads, it'll be infr=ormative. Good luck.
