Litronic Redux
 

I have recently completed the Litronic retrofit of my 996 and highly reccommend the modification. I went about it in a poorly organized way that eventually cost a ton of money (fortunately, I pay this stuff out of Paypal so my wife does not know how much this stuff costs). The upgrade, however is well worth the price of admission. The tech article on Litronic upgrade is an excellent adjunct to the Porshe instructions that came with the kit.

If you are considering the Litronic upgrade my advise is to just buy the kit from Porsche. Do not try to "cheap out" an buy used on Ebay. My results- buy three used ebay litronic headlights to get two working ones and no wiring harness. Harness is not absolutely necessary but will reduce burned out bulbs. I finally ended up buying the OEM kit from Brandywine Porsche for $1450. It was as low as $1099 in May! Also upgraded to clear tail and side lights for grins. Installation of harness was a snap! Two hours tops including dog walk and morning constitutional with newspaper.

Anyone want to buy two used (one actually works!) Litronic and two halogen headlights?
