Porsche Crest 964 G-pipe & Muffler Combination.

With a G-pipe installed on the 964 exhaust system. Would it be quieter with the primary muffler (the rear muffler) & G-pipe? or quieter with the secondary muffler ( right side muffler) & G-pipe? I am looking for the quiet combination. It is rather loud with no mufflers installed.

The g-pipe replaces the secondary muffler.

You can't run the secondary and the g-pipe at the same time.

If you leave your primary on, and remove the secondary, it will sound pretty close to having the g-pipe installed.

G-pipe is relatively inexpensive, and an easy install. Try it out, and if you don't like it, you'll sell it easily on the classified board.

I don't think a G-pipe (secondary bypass) is too loud. It's a bit more "throaty-rumbly". My car with the stock primary and secondary bypass was a consistent 89 db in the sound checks at Laguna Seca, so still in the legal limits in CA.

The G-pipe is a nice cheap way to get more sound from the car. I did that, plus put a drilled airbox on the car.
