91' 964 turbo hard starting question

General car starts okay, but not with authority. What I mean is it does not jump up to 1K RPM but more like 200 RPM stumbles a little and then I may have to give it a little pedal to keep from stalling. I sometimes hear backfiring in the air box. Same issue when warm, stop the car for an hour restart and if not careful the car will stall at stop signs, than after a few miles runs perfect.

Talk to guys autothority, explain what options you have on your car, things like a light weight flywheel, full flow exhaust, or other engine mods have an effect on which chip program they use. also might be helpful if you give them the p/n of the DME in your car.

Thank goodness I have a good mechanic. Bottom line he shimed the arm the
round plate in the air intake sits on! Not found in any Porsche manual
that it was adjustable, but he did not like the way it sat. The slightest
gap created the vaccuum loss and hotstart lean condition. Problem solved.
Unfortunatly no one online came close to that one.
