Differences between 996??

Hi,

Just thought I'd shoot out a quick question on the main difference between the early 996 and the 2002 model?

I was at the dealership and they both have the 2001 C4 and the 2002 911. I can't tell the difference between the body style.

I know from reading the specs the '02 has alot more power, but in terms of the bodywise... Is there a difference?? Hope I get some feedback..

I think the 2002 had a glovebox, where the earlier ones did not.

Otherwise, the engine is the main difference.

The 2002 has the 996 Turbo headlights. Changes were also made to the front and rear bumpers which were supposed to make a signifigant improvement to the Aero of the car.

The engine in the 2002 put out 320 HP-the 2001 made 300. I don't think I would call that " a lot more power".

thanks... went in ebay and found very slight differences in the headlight and bumpers that was pointed out. not much difference at all... except for the price :-(

2002 + is supposed to be a stiffer car. They also have a glove box, cup holders, and I believe the turbo twist wheels became hollow, thus less unsprung weight.

I loved my past 2001 C4. No problems with it.

I'm sure performance wise - there will be differences. But nothing that aftermarket parts can't keep up with. i.e, suspension and wheels.

Im just trying to figure out if its worth spending an extra 10k-15k for a 2002.

Cup holders were there before 2002.......
