996 front headlights
I'm looking at buying a '99 996 and I've noticed some have the yellow lense on the front headight turn signals and some have clear ones. Was there a '99 1/2 year that switched from yellow to clear? If not, what year did the 996 get clear turn signal lenses?
thanks, Dustin

All of the US cars come with amber corner markers. However, many people prefer the look of the European clear markers and swap them out.

I mean on the front lens not on the side ones. Some of the front headlights have yellow and some have white. The white obviously look a little newer/fresher. The thing is I've seen '99 cars with both, I suppose it is possible the owners are doing it, but I wondered if there was a half year or something where Porsche start swapping them out at the factory.
thanks, Dustin

Yes, the later '99's have the clear headlight turn signals. However, I'm not sure when the side markers turned clear. You can upgrade to them for under 50 bucks though.
That's a dead giveaway for the '99's. Best,
