Recommended Dealers/Sellers for 963 0r 993

Can anyone suggest good reliable sources where to buy a 964 or 993?

I have learned enough from this board to date to at least use extreme caution with Victory (and they seemed to have so much inventory to choose from ).

Are Porsche dealers worth considering, or are they grossly expensive and only prefer to deal in new cars?

Is CA NV or FL the best place to look?

I am flexible where I would need to go - air travel is not a problem with my job.

Thanks in advance for input.

Try to find a private seller, preferably an enthusiast. Check the Rennlist classifieds.

Luke-56,
It really doesn't matter where you buy your P-car just make sure you the shop that is doing the PPI ( Pre-purchase inspection ) is familiar with that particular model year...
For a reference, one of the largest Porsche dealerships in TN did the PPI on my C2 Turbo and 2 weeks later found out they never even touched my car yet told me the car was awesome, blah blah blah..I think i lucked out 'coz not only i was able to make those ---holes pay for the 2nd PPI but the car also passed the PPI with flying colors...
Do your home work and let some one look at the car prior to even scheduling the PPI and NEVER EVER RUSH INTO BUYING ANY CAR LET ALONE A P-CAR...
Good Luck...

Thanks for the tip - it's coming through pretty loud & clear that a PPI is mandatory.

Querstion: How does one go about finding someone to do this?

I can see it would be possible to get a reliable PPI in LA or NYC, but how do you go about it in say Paducah KY?

There can't be "Porsche 993 PPI Specialists" in the yellow pages in Paducah, can there?

Is the PCA worth joining before ownership to browse the classifieds?

You my friend are in luck,i live in Elizabethtown,KY not too far from Paducah and would be glad to look at the car for you..so what type of car are we talking here...btw there is a very good Porsche dealership in Louisville,KY that can do the PPi should the car passes the visual inspection...
Shoot me a PM with all the details of the car..

Thanks for the offer - I guess I was meaning "in general" - I could have said say Spring Lake Michigan or something. Paducah just kind of came off the top of my head!

I'm just trying to understand how I line up someone when I get to that stage - right now I am in the "dispose of my current ride" mode - I guess I am a month or so off getting real serious.

So, I guess the answer is - I post a request for a PPI here - and we'll help you out?

Or, is there a specific list of PPI resources somewhere?

Thanks in advance,

luke-44
