993 interior water leak

My 1996 Porsche 993 has an interior water leak on the passenger side which previously shorted out the alarm control module. We can't find the source of the leak even after extensive exterior water testing but it still leaks when driven in the rain. Has anyone had a similar problem and found the solution?

Welcome to the board. However, this post needs to be with the 993 group.

Regarding your leak, more details. Is it leaking near the doors, front fender, rear section? Also, is your car a cab our coupe?

Thanks for the feedback, I have now posted this situation with the 993 group (accidently used the 914 group the first time). The car is a coupe and the water appears under the carpeting on the passenger side both front and rear with no idea how the water is entering the cabin.

As it is happening when the car is driven, look for a wiring grommet that is leaking. Possibley behind the wheel well insert. The water is being forced under preassure against something that allows it into the cabin. That's why you can't find it with a hose. As it is getting into both the front and rear passenger sides, I'd suspect it's near the longs. Water gets in runs along the top of the longs and then into the passenger compartment.

You might want to upgrade to a 914....were used to a little water

Windshield leak is not that uncommon and water collecting in the pax footwell would be where it goes. You should also check your floor drains to make sure that water does not hurt the electronics.

How long has it leaked? Is this something new?
