Wrong chip. The ePROM I was refering to is the card that goes into the KTS300 for reading codes and resetting things. Over on Rennlist there now a Scantron system that works with a laptop doing most everything the Hammer does.

Craig. That DIY Interface that you talk about on Rennlist is excellent. I have just finished building one to talk to my 964 and it's amazing. So to all you guys having problems with the electronics on your cars than maybe you should check it out as it's dirt cheap to make and does pretty much everything Including erasing codes as well, YES thats right, if you have fault codes in your memory than you can now erase them for yourself without having to pay someone else to do it for you. I have built this and can assure you it works perfectly. Give it a go.
Don't need the KTS 300 no more Craig. |

I know about the Scantool you are talking about over on Rennlist. My lappy is a newer one without a serial port so I would need to get a Serial Port Adapter Card or just buy an old laptop with the port and just have a dedicated computer for the car. Which are you using, adapter card or older laptop?

I am using both Craig. It's not an issue for me as I have computers all over the place at home and at work. My laptop is great when I need to monitor things aswell as drive at the same time and a desktop does the job for anything else. Both work as good as each other though. When using my newer laptop then I need to use a usb to serial adaptor which isn't fantastic as the baud rate becomes a problem with the motronic but thats why I use my older laptop with the serial onboard when I need to use it mobile. It's great.
